Abraham "Abe" Simpson, known as Grampa, is the oldest living Simpson, he is grandfather to Bart, Lisa and Maggie. His life-story is completely made-up, often physically or historically impossible. This shows he is senile. He claims he was born in the "Old Country" but cannot remember which country. He was a sergeant in WWII, and apparently avoided service for a year by dressing in drag and claiming to be a woman. He was discovered by a German officer, possibly Hitler himself.
