Dan Castellaneta started off trying to imitate Walter Matthau for the voice of Homer Simpson, but changed the voice slightly at the start of the second season because of difficulties with certain emotions. He is a Graduate of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Since joining The Simpsons, he's starred in other animated television shows such as Hey Arnold! and Earthworm Jim. Dan is a vegetarian who also doesn't drink, and practices tai-chi.
