Abe meets Beatrice Simmons at The Springfield Retirement Castle and they fall in love. Their romance is brief because Beatrice dies soon later but she leaves her entire life savings to Abe. Instead of using the money for himself, Abe uses it to spruce-up the retirement home because he thought Beatrice would want him to do something like that with the money.

Notes:

  • This is the first time a character has died.
    Goofs:
  • Abe says that he only has one son even though we learned in a prior episode that he actually has two.
  • Beatrice walks in for lunch at the end of the episode even though she was supposed to have died.
    Trivia: Edward Hopper's painting Nighthawks is very similiar to the scene of Grandpa in the coffee shop.
