Laura moved to Springfield with her mother Ruth after her parents divorced. Bart fell in love with her immediately, except Laura saw Bart as a child and started seeing Jimbo Jones shortly after. Bart convinced Laura that Jimbo wasn't man enough for her, and devised a ploy to prove it. He called Moe Szyzlak for a prank call and claimed to be Jimbo Jones, living in 742 Evergreen Terrace. Moe wasted no time showing up at the Simpsons' house with a rusty knife, and Jimbo broke down and cried. Moe quickly retreated, claiming he wouldn't do any major harm. Afterwards, Laura convinced Bart they could be friends.
